Forest Health Initiative
Protecting Our Forests for the Future
Our forests are in trouble. Pests and diseases are decimating many of our most common trees and these threats leave forests vulnerable to other stressors—like climate change. To address these challenges, Westchester Land Trust has launched a multi-pronged forest health initiative that relies on simple, replicable practices that include:
- Invasive vine removal
- Native tree plantings
- Beach leaf disease assessment
- Deer exclosures and tree protection
Together, we can protect our forests! Email ben@westchesterlandtrust.org to receive information about volunteer events related to our forest health initiative.
