Join WLT’s stewardship team and the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference on Tuesday, November 7 to help improve trails at Buttonbush Preserve in Cortlandt. We will be working to improve a pre-existing social trail with side-hilling and install new trail sections with the goal of formalizing a trail system.

Day + Time: Tuesday, November 7, 9am–1pm. Rain Date: Monday, November 13, 9am–1pm.

Location + Parking: Buttonbush Preserve in Cortlandt (This preserve is not yet open to the public) | Parking will be at the Hudson Highlands Gateway Park lot and we will shuttle you to the trailhead.

Difficulty: Intermediate to advanced. Appropriate for ages 12 and up; minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

What to Bring/Wear: Water, snacks, weather-appropriate clothing—long pants, close-toed shoes, work gloves. WLT will provide tools (rake, shovels, etc) but feel free to bring your personal tools if you want to.

Safety: We will be working off-trail. There are some plants with thorns and there may be ticks and poison ivy. The best way to prevent these hazards is wearing appropriate clothing—close-toed shoes, long pants, and long sleeves.

Registration: RSVP to jaelen@westchesterlandtrust.org by November 6.
