This event is part of the annual Hudson River Valley Ramble.

Spend a joyful morning in the garden with your family on Tuesday, September 24, at Sugar Hill Farm. Together with farmer Allison and WLT staff, you’ll get hands-on experience caring for our bountiful quarter-acre garden, where everything grown is donated to local food pantries. From planting to harvesting, learn simple organic gardening techniques and discover where your favorite veggies come from. This event is perfect for families looking to enjoy the outdoors, connect with nature, and cultivate a love for gardening in children of all ages.

Day + Time: Tuesday, September 24, 9:30–11:30am (rain or shine).

Location + Parking: Sugar Hill Farm, 403 Harris Road, Bedford Hills, NY | Meet in front of the garden. Parking is available on-site.

Difficulty: Easy. Family-friendly and suitable for all ages; minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The activities will take place on flat, accessible ground.

What to Bring/Wear: Comfortable clothing that can get dirty, water, snacks, and sun protection. Garden gloves and tools will be provided, but feel free to bring your own.

Safety: Be prepared for working in the garden. Wearing sturdy shoes and sunscreen is recommended. Watch out for poison ivy, as well as bees and other insects.
