Hemlock Brook Preserve is a vital buffer to the Croton Reservoir, just a half mile away. The 14-acre preserve features a dense hemlock forest with a steep slope down to the brook, which helps protect water quality in the nearby reservoir.
While the preserve is mostly free from invasives, the forest health is threatened by insects, disease, and deer browse. Join Preserve Manager Ben and Conservation Technician Stella for a day of forest regeneration! We will be planting and protecting native trees for resiliency and to increase diversity of both plants and animals in the preserve.
