Join WLT’s stewardship team on Friday, January 26 to cut and remove vines to save trees as part of a forest restoration project at Buttonbush Preserve in Cortlandt.

Day + Time: Friday, January 26, 10am–12:30pm.

Location + Parking: Buttonbush Preserve in Cortlandt (This preserve is not yet open to the public) | Parking will be at the Hudson Highlands Gateway Park lot and we will shuttle you to the trailhead.

Difficulty: Intermediate. Appropriate for ages 12 and up; minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. We will walk off-trail through brush and will need to walk a mile to access the site.

What to Bring/Wear: Water, snacks, weather-appropriate clothing—long pants, close-toed shoes, work gloves. WLT will provide tools (rake, shovels, etc) but feel free to bring your personal tools if you want to.

Safety: We will be working off-trail. There are some plants with thorns and there may be ticks and poison ivy. The best way to prevent these hazards is wearing appropriate clothing—close-toed shoes, long pants, and long sleeves.

Registration: RSVP to jaelen@westchesterlandtrust.org.
