Sometimes, all it takes is one person with foresight, generosity, and a deep care for the land to inspire action. Laura Desmaris, Westchester Land Trust Board Director and Trustee of Kingfisher Philanthropies, saw an opportunity to make a lasting difference in her neighborhood—and that’s exactly what she did. Twelve acres of land that was once slated for development is now a haven rich in biodiversity, protecting drinking water and scenic views for thousands of people.
Join Laura and WLT staff for a tour of the preserve and learn about what it took to save this land, restore it, and protect it forever. Refreshments will be served.
